ISSUES
In the next four years on the Daly City Council, Judith will:
Continue being your independent and ever vigilant voice at City Hall
• Always ask the tough questions that you want answered
• Be a tough negotiator for the people of Daly City in all financial dealings
• Continue to improve City outreach to the community
• Insist on better public notification of proposed new development projects
• Ensure that agenda backup material is fully available to the public
• Defend the right of the public and all Councilmembers to freely express diverse opinions
Plan for future growth while preserving and enhancing our neighborhood quality of life
• Implement creative solutions for our growing parking problems
• Work to ensure that all neighborhoods receive their fair share of City services
• Increase the number of blinking crosswalks and stop lights at dangerous intersections
• Partner with Elementary and High School Districts on projects like the Westmoor Swimming Pool and the Policita Gym
• Finish our General Plan update and modernize our zoning and codes for residential and commercial buildings. (I serve on both the General Plan and Zoning committees.)
• Work to acquire federal funding to build new street runoff and waste water infrastructure to prevent flooding
• Help Mission Street property owners create an energized downtown Daly City -- No use of eminent domain.
• Build a mixed-use housing and full service shopping center (groceries, pharmacy, bank, post office, and more) in the Bayshore neighborhood
Create a Green and beautiful future for Daly City
• Set goals and do our part to reduce Global Warming
• Expand recycling
• Seek funding and right-of-ways for a trail to Thorton Beach
• Expand shuttle system and promote public transportation
• Replace trees lost to Pine Canker disease
• Increase our use of recycled water
• Reduce graffiti and trash on our streets
• Develop Green Building Standards for construction
Increase employment and business opportunities
• Build a full service union hotel with conference center and banquet facilities that will bring new jobs and increased City income
• Enhance youth leadership, personal responsibility, and career development programs through our Recreation and Police Departments, area schools, and businesses
• Attract new businesses
